OSLO, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Norwegian oil company DNO International ASA (DNO) said on Friday that it had not yet received authorisation to export oil from its Tawke field in northern Iraq, but said progress was being made.

DNO operates Tawke under a production sharing deal with the Kurdish regional authorities, but it has not been able to export because it has had to wait for settlement of a dispute between the central authorities in Baghdad and the regional government.

A spokesman for Iraq's Oil Minister said on Thursday that an initial agreement had been reached with the Kurdish region to export oil from the Tawke field.

"Following contacts with Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) today, DNO has been advised by KRG that they expect that export from Tawke can commence during the first quarter 2009," DNO said in a statement.

"As per today DNO has not received an authorisation for export of oil from Tawke," it said, but added that progress was being made towards a tie-in and export of the oil.
