PRESS RELEASE

Atonomics A/S completes the development of AtolyzerTM, a unique diagnostic
instrument offering unprecedented medical possibilities

Atonomics A/S, a Danish privately-owned diagnostic company, announces the
completion of Atolyzer?, a small and flexible diagnostic instrument that can
deliver precise and broad spectrum medical diagnosis on a drop of blood within
minutes. The result of a truly innovative approach, Atolyzer? is targeted
initially for bedside diagnostics, but expected also to play an important role
in advancing diagnostic home testing as well as in the increasingly
acknowledged field of Companion Diagnostics, as an essential tool to assist a
personalised medicine approach in several areas of healthcare.

Advanced diagnostics move closer to the patient
The novelty of the unique Atolyzer? system is the transformation of complex
blood analysis of the large central laboratory instrumentation into a
miniaturized format - and with the same high test quality in minutes. Thus,
Atolyzer? offers unprecedented possibilities, enabling advanced diagnostics to
move closer to the patient, cutting away the long waiting time, which central
laboratory testing requires from patients and doctors today. The medical
benefit of early diagnosis can be life saving and lead to the best possible
treatment of patients. With costs of health care under pressure, it has also
become increasingly important to diagnose patients efficiently at decentralised
locations to avoid costly admission to hospitals and central clinics.

Atolyzer? at work to help prevent heart failures
The first Atolyzer? diagnostic test is aimed at the very large field of
Congestive Heart Failure. Heart diseases are the most frequent cause of death,
and the Atolyzer? cardiac test provides ultra early information on the
condition of the heart, thus opening up for preventive treatment at an
unprecedented early stage. Following regulatory approval, the cardiac test is
expected ready for launch within a year as the first time that such advanced
diagnostic test can be moved into the hands of general practitioners and other
health care professionals , and potentially lead to better future prognosis for
heart failure patients.

Thomas Warthoe, CEO of Atonomics, says:
"The field of cardiac testing is a logical choice for Atonomics as a first
entry for the Atolyzer?. The market for cardiac testing is well advanced and
the possibility of earlier heart disease stage information is acknowledged as
an important prerequisite to ensure better treatment effect and disease
prognosis. Acute cardiac events can be avoided with this type of frequent point
of care testing in local heart clinics, the GP's office or at home. In fact,
not only people with a known cardiac history, but also perceived healthy people
could benefit from this type of testing. Self testing is a growing trend and
this technology opens up possibilities for high quality home testing in a
number of new areas.?

Three step launch plan - opening future potential
The Atolyzer? is designed for use within three fundamental diagnostic
principals currently in use, and launch of the testing platform is planned in
three steps:

The first Atolyzer? platform, planned for launch within a year, is for protein
based blood tests such as cardiac testing. The second version to follow will be
aimed at diagnostic DNA testing, including tests for hospital infections,
infectious diseases and genetic predisposition. The third platform version of
the Atolyzer? will be designed for multiple panels testing, which can broaden
the read out and thus provide more information simultaneously.

Not only the diagnostics industry has high demands for more rapid testing, in
clinical practice and under the heading of Companion Diagnostics, focus is on
near patient tests that can help realise and expand the potential in the area
of personalised medicines, i.e. help doctors select medicines that would have
the greatest efficacy and the lowest probability of harmful side effects for
each individual patient. Similar tests may also help detect disease at early
stages, segment diseases, monitor progression and therapy effectiveness, and
perhaps identify disease predisposition in the future. Atolyzer? is a testing
platform that can be integrated into such future disease management strategies.

Atolyzer? - The result of innovative development
Behind Atonomics A/S stands a multidisciplinary team of engineers, biochemists
and business people that have spent approximately five years on the completion
of Atolyzer?. This innovative project has been backed by Danish, Swiss and
Japanese investment partners and the goal is to gradually bring the platform at
work in near patient settings across several diagnostics and medicines related
applications.
