Exiqon announces presentation of results at the 2011 ASCO Annual meeting in
Chicago showing the potential use of microRNAs as biomarkers in drug
development together with a major pharmaceutical company and the National
Cancer Center, SingaporeExiqon A/S (Copenhagen:EXQ) today announced that results from a diagnostic
program on the potential of using circulating microRNAs in serum as companion
diagnostic biomarkers has been selected for presentation at the 2011 ASCO
meeting to be held June 3-6 in Chicago.
The title of the work is: “The potential of circulating microRNA (miRNA) levels
as a biomarker in drug development: An analysis of tumor-serum samples from
patients on a phase I trial of saracatinib-paclitaxel (P) carboplatin (C)”.
Abstract No: 10548 Citation: J Clin Oncol 29: 2011 (suppl; abstr 10548).
“The selection for presentation at the ASCO is a reflection of the great
progress being made in demonstrating the utility of miRNAs present in blood
derived serum or plasma as biomarkers.”, says Adam Baker, VP of Diagnostics at
Exiqon.
