HAMILTON, BERMUDA - 05 June 2009
Scorpion Offshore Ltd. ("Scorpion" or the "Company") would like to
provide an updated fleet contract status - please see the attached
table which will be posted to our website and updated on a regular
basis.
Significant developments include the following:
* The Offshore Intrepid was delivered to Scorpion from Keppel AmFELS
in Brownsville, Texas, on Friday, 23 January 2009. The unit was the
modified for its contract in the Arabian Gulf and mobilized to the
Middle East. The rig arrived in the Arabian Gulf and began its
drilling contract on 15 May 2009.
* The Offshore Freedom was delivered to Scorpion from the Lamprell
shipyard in Sharjah, U.A.E. on 28 April 2009. The unit was then
modified for its contract in the Arabian Gulf and departed for its
contract on 03 June 2009.
* Scorpion received a letter of intent (LOI) from Thanglong Joint
Operating Company to extend the current contract for the Offshore
Resolute. This LOI is in direct continuation of the current program
offshore Vietnam and has a duration of 6 months beginning early
August 2009.
In summary, five of the Company's jackups are currently operating
and the sixth jackup should begin operations in the next week. The
rigs have a total contract backlog of approximately $820 million,
an average contract coverage of just over two years for the first 6
rigs. The Company's last jackup under construction, the Offshore
Mischief, is currently being marketed for sale.
Scorpion Offshore Ltd is a Bermuda based corporation founded in
2005, which owns 6 state-of-the-art offshore Jack Up rigs built
between 2007 and 2009 and one additional identical rig under
construction.

Nok en bull-melding fra Scorpion
Sveaas kjøper seg ytterligere opp.
Den 5. juni 2009 kjøpte Kistefos Investment AS, nærstående av Christen Sveaas, 100 000 aksjer i Scorpion Offshore Ltd over Oslo Børs til snittkurs 23,3735 kroner pr. aksje. Christen Sveaas er medlem av styret i Scorpion Offshore Ltd. Etter kjøpet eier Christen Sveaas og nærstående til sammen 14 967 462 aksjer i Scorpion Offshore Ltd, heter det i en melding fra selskapet.
Vinner
I går etter stengetid ble det klart at Scorpion Offshore har sikret en lånefasilitet på 52 millioner dollar som ventes endelig sluttført i løpet av få dager.
Fasiliteten går over seks måneder, med aksjonærene Seadrill og Christen Sveaas som garantister. Disse mottar 8,5 prosent for sine garantier.
Tilbakebetalingen skal skje gjennom salg av riggen Offshore Mischief, og selskapet er i kontakt med flere interessenter med sikte på en løsning innen slutten av året. Etter dette salget vil Scorpion ifølge meldingen ikke trenge ytterligere kapital.
Scorpion stiger 33,69 prosent til 25 kroner på nyheten.
